We are planning a trip to Tahuya for May 12th &13th. Originally, it was just going to be a day trip, but some people could only do Saturday, others only Sunday so it turned into a weekend camping/wheeling trip. Depending on the weather, I will be camping Friday and Saturday night, either @ Camp Spillman or Kamenga. There are some other members who will be camping too, but weather will ultimately be the deciding factor.

    When:
May 12th & May 13th (camping Friday & Saturday night weather dependent)
    Where to Meet:
Safeway in Belfair (near Tahuya ORV park)
    Meet Time:
Safeway @ 9:30, on the trails by 10:00
    *NOTE:
For those want to camp on Friday, please tune your CB to Ch.22 or 2-way to Ch.19 when you arrive in Tahuya, that way someone can guide you to the camp-site. Campsites are first-come/first-serve so I hope we can find 1 or 2 good sized sites.

    Permits Required:
Washington Discover Pass Required : Info/purchasing HERE
    Communication:
    CB (Ch.22) or 2-way (Ch.19)
    Vehicle requirements:
None, there's something for all skill levels here, just be smart :)

I will make the drive if it's camping. I can't afford to drive that far if it's just gonna be a day trip.

For me, it's like an hour and a half of drive time, but I also gotta take the ferry.

Why ride when you can drive? :p

That's a bummer though dude. I can make it the 12th, but not the 13th. I need to work.

If more people are down for the 13th though, I'll just have to make the next one.

I was thinking of going for saturday. might even drag the wifey & horse out, drop the horse trailer and let the wife have fun with him while i have fun with the truck. not sure on camping though, even if it is a 2 hour drive.

I'm just going to plan on camping Friday and Saturday nights. I guess this could shape up to be a 2-Day event, with a mix of different people on each day.

I will get more time-frame details worked out in the next week or so. Probably get there around 4-5 on Friday to set up camp.

I'm looking forward to not being surrounded by sand, and the possibility it won't be pissing on us the whole night :p

That would be awesome! That way you can accommodate the Saturday guys, and the Sunday guys and show everyone around. :D

My thoughts exactly! The only downside is I've never been there either.

If I get there early enough Friday, I will explore and familiarize myself with the trail. the 4x4 trail is relatively small compared to the rest of the park, but it will still be a kick-ass time!

Heh I can get us started, but really don't know how to get any certain location. Not too big a problem, the whole place is designed to just wander around

That's what I figured, it's a big loop-trail with some offshoots/detours. Are you planning on camping Friday and Saturday nights or just one? I am really looking forward to it...I've been wanting to get up there for about a year now.
