Alright guys, with all the interest to Eagle Lakes i figured i would make it official.

    October 9, 10, and 11

The Eagle Lakes Trail is a scenic four wheel drive tour through rocky terrain and dense forests. Early in the spring the trail can be very wet making for quite a challenge in some spots.

    Directions:
Take highway 80 east towards Reno. Exit at Eagle Lakes road near Donner Summit. Go north under the freeway and follow the road around to the west. Turn north across the road from the Indian Springs campground. Follow the trail a short distance to the staging area.

    Gas Up:
    Get gas in Cisco Grove.

    GPS Coordinates:
    Trailhead: N39° 19.895 W120° 34.363

    What to expect:
Beautiful views, Great trails, Camping, Fishing, Campfire

    Requirements:
You must be a 4x4 to run this trail. With a stock vehicle you can make it through with some careful spotting. Rock sliders are not needed but will help with a few sections. Be sure to bring the proper recovery gear as we will be out there for a few days and if your sh*t breaks, have the tools to fix it.

    Pictures:
The trails is generally easy with a few obstacles to negotiate. [IMG]

There is a bypass at this section if you dont want to face the "Driveshaft Hill"

Depending on time of year and snowmelt, the river may be too deep to cross.

There are a few ledges along the way, but nothing a stock vehicle couldn't handle.

Going in from the staging area, the left fork will take you down to the river and to some excellent camping spots.

We can figure out all the final details like if we want to do a pot luck or what time we will meet up saturday later... Post up if your coming! Going to be an awesome time!

    Official List: Red: Confirmed
stroM- (Jason) + The Pops - Camping Saturday & Sunday

^my gf is probably not coming but yours is more than welcome. Meeting place with probably be the trail head gps coordinates. Either that or a local gas station. I'll have to scope it out on google maps.

    Bruce,
Bummer you can't make it! If anything changes let me know. Would be great to have you and Joy (pretty sure thats her name. Sorry if it's not I'm not the greatest with names) out there! Even if it is just for the day ;)

I was really wanting to do this, when I told the wife, she said have a good time. then ten min later, she says, that's the weekend we are going camping with my brother :(. maybe next time.
When I was looking at travel time to eagle lake it was like six and a half hours from my house

So myself, my girlfriend and hopefully my brother in law and sister should be going. This is only 30 minutes from my house so I doubt we wont be able to make it. The only thing is I am on call that week so hopefully nothing goes wrong LOL.

Google doesn't recognize if you put "eagle lakes, ca" You have to put the GPS coordinates.

I always bring them, thats why we live in the mountains! lol. I take them up to boca lake ( just about 20 minutes or so ) near this trip location. During the winter they get around 4-6 feet of snow. Thats literally why I got the taco and why I picked the mods I have done so far. It would be pretty cool to do a winter trip there also!

Nice i planed on staying until Monday i just wanted to make sure there is other people to head out with. You know it would suck to be the go out alone and break something on the way out.

I will however have my lift installed so I feel a little better about clearance and it will be a perfect weekend to test out the new billies.
