My worthless CB antenna kit

    after i purchased my cb radio i got this mag mount antenna kit with a 3 feet antenna it looks like the firestik antenna but it is not(non tunable tip). does not matter where i put the antenna my swr just straight up suck, the best i can get is 3:1.5, i dont know if i bought a wrong kit for my truck or is my radio messed up, i was wondering if any local members have some spare cb antenna that i can use to see what the deal is. im located at east bay, walnut creek, any help is appreciated :cool:

    Maybe you have a marine band cb antenna? Or vise versa. Don't know what radio u have.

    Marine band is not CB and operates in a completely different band at VHF. He would get nothing on a marine antenna. He needs an antenna with a tunable tip and to ditch the mag mount for a proper grounded mount.

    I have a midland 1001z, BTW Seth do u have any old antenna you don't want I just need one that works

    Sorry dude.... have a bunch of antennas.. just not for CB. Go get yourself a ham license and i can help ya out. :)
