I spent a bunch of time exploring up there years ago, not much available on public land unfortunately. I did get back into some fire roads one day, had to go through a private gate though. Got pretty close to the "big box" on top. There is some cool stuff up there too, back in the 50's? a bomber crashed into the side of one of hills. Carefull though, you could wander onto someones crop.

That's pretty cool man, I've been close to the box at Mt umunhum twice, unfortunately scarcely intercepted by some of the mOst bad a$$ park ranger. Got off lucky tho both times I got warning tickets, fOr being behind all the signs and gates. And ya there are some crazy growers up there.

Well I'll let you know if I ever find anything haha hopefully not a crop lol

I think ramdom exploring up there would be very risky at best. There's too many unmarked roads and it's all too easy to get lost. Even if you're lost and wander onto a private road or patrolled area, you'd still be in trouble big time. To say you got lost wouldn't carry any weight in court to the judge. Not worth it.

Ya that's very true, both times getting caught was excruciatingly frightening plus the fact that I could have had a record or even been shot like some have for wandering on some crops
