ToyotaPro in concord has a great deal on tranny flush.

just got mine done. 14 qts of new WS toyota fluid, and my truck is shifting very smooth. i admit, i didnt think it would make a difference. i towed alot during my front yard re-do, and my truck does some heavy lifting for hunting seasons. i have 68000 miles on the clock, and he quoted me $203 OTD. i jumped on it, and didnt wait for the 70k miles i had planned. i didnt want him to change his price.

just a head's up. i think i got a pretty good deal.

Hmmmmm really i got quoted 150 before at toyota santa cruz, gotta give them a call and see if prices have changed.

 

what does the regularly scheduled maintenance say when you're suppose to flush it?

 

100k if you drive "regular".

i towed a fair amount, and i did alot of hill climbing. i think it is 65k for harsher use.

is there a DIY where we can do it ourselves?

 

there is a sticky. i blew out my knee. it looks pretty straightforward..but there are a few tricky spots. i didnt have the heart to handle it myself.

 

hey, if you do it yourself..i wouldnt mind coming to learn and watch..

if i ever get my knee to bend normally again..

I only found threads about draining and filling (which is only 3 qts or so)

I would want to do it all in one shot so I wouldn't have to do it again for a while

flushing yourself is basically just doing several drain and fills till the fluid is clear to your liking.
