I am INSANELY excited! I love Tahoe and am celebrating my one year anniversary with my girlfriend. I booked a hotel at 3 peaks, one of the real nice junior suites. I booked it for a two night stay and am taking the Taco up there, I have been to Tahoe before but have never went down with a vehicle this massive, I am not nervous at all but the coming weekend will be an insanely exciting one.. :D

So who knows when the snow is coming??!! That's when I am really looking forward to going out there because I am just waiting to go boarding! I haven't went since the very late winter 2010 season in early 2011 around March. I missed all the good stuff this very last season that passed and am totally stoked to go back to hit the slopes this coming season!!!!

you got a few months before you will get any boardin in. on good years by thanksgiving most of everything is open. boreal opens early, but the snow sucks. There is still a lot of good biking and kayaking this time of year though

I'm thinking Mt rose, I think I've been there before but never boarded, Heavenly is fantastic, but a little overcrowded at times.. Sierra at Tahoe was a great place too. I have also been to Diamond Peak which was not bad. I like to ride the black diamond slopes anyways. I am definitely looking forward to the winter season. I'll be going every time I get a day off at least once a month. I have missed too much action to let this season go to waste :D

First off, we're way off from snow. Secondly, there was no "good stuff" last season. By far the worst season I've ever riden. Third, Heavenly sucks. It's for tourists (or if you've got a long lunch and live almost next door):D
You wanna ride hard, go to Kirkwood. Sierra is fun during a weekday, but crowds suck on the weekend. lots of kickers and side terrain to play on. Mt Rose is nice early season cause it's got the highest base and normally has decent snow when everyone else is slush city. But its also the closest to Reno and gets bombarded by that crowd on weekends. Northstar is one of my favorite resorts, but again gets completely ridiculous on weekends especially since the Ritz was finished and Veil bought the resort. If you go to Northstar, my suggestion is to go to lookout mountain...and stay there.

Last season sucked huh? Hmm.. well at least I didn't miss out on crap then, I heard the season lasted quite a while, but I guess not. That is the sucky thing about Heavenly, a shitload of tourists who usually just sit in the freaking snow like beached whales and block everything for everyone. Mt. Rose and Sierra are probably the best places to be it sounds like. I have yet to go to Northstar, at least I don't think I've been there so I probably have not. Lol I'll have to look out for lookout mountain. I do like a little scenery though.

I had about two or three solid days last year. I only ended up going about eight times. I've never gone that few times in a season before :( I pretty much only ride at Sierra as the drive there is so quick and easy for me. I want to head to Kirkwood one of these days after a heavy snowstorm but the drive there sucks.

    Congrats on your anniversary man.

2 seasons ago was probably the best snow I've ever seen. My brother lost a ski in a tree well at Alpine, we must have dug for 4 hours looking for it. I guess we're lucky he didn't drown cause he was under like 10ft of snow. Then they shut down 80 and we were stuck there an extra day. That was fun

Thanks a lot man. Sierra is a pretty quick drive surprisingly and I did have a blast there, there seemed to be a lot of different trails and runs you could take while still having a very very scenic view. I'm all about scenery. It helps me find peace within myself.

I know that sounds kinda cheesy, but hey, its true :)

Oh yeahhhh huh!!! I forgot all about that! Is that the only place that does totally free for active duty members? I heard about that earlier this year and I've been totally psyched ever since to go snowboarding because of that.

Oh very very nice! I like that! I think I remember all that because 2 seasons ago I was going up there myself (not kirkwood, but the general area).

I can live with the middle. :D

I remember one season either two or three ago I was up in heavenly during a heavy storm, somewhat bordering that of a blizzard. The ride up to that black diamond run was insanely cold but the ride down was like no other. The thin ass jacket that I have definitely served its purpose and kept me quite warm for the most part.

    Best jacket ever :)

This one wasn't bad either though.

    No kidding  Haha

Well it sounds like you guys had a hell of a time didn't you?!

I would totally set one up for this year but its hard for me to keep up with TW since im always on the road and the only time I have to get on is when I'm docked.if anyone else is willing to set it up ill for sure be down to go though.but just know that I'm nothing amazing out on the slopes so don't kick me to the curb lol

What happens in Tahoe, stays in Tahoe LOL :spy:

Nah but really, if someone else wants to set it up, I'd be down. I'd rather not set it up this year because I'm already setting up 2 similar trips in Tahoe this winter
