You do need a fire permit but u can get one online and they are free. I'll post up the link in a minute. If you're in a group you'll probably be fine as long as someone has one but they don't take very long to get.

Just print this out and fill it in. Doesn't matter that it's from a different forest, it's good for all of CA.

Not gonna b able to make it guys..got two nails in one of my tires and no one is willing to fix it cuz the tread is to low they say.I don't have a full size spare to switch out the bad and I don't want to buy a new tire cuz I want to size up in a few months when I really need it.this just ruined everything for me and it makes it worst cuz its the second time I'm gonna miss out on this place..

I'd fix it for you if we were closer, sorry. Or try a smaller shop that's not a name brand store, they'll usually do things that the big stores won't cause they aren't too worried about liability :)

Clunking started after Pismo. In fact, my wheel bearing was shot bc or Pismo, swapped it out, and clunking began
Only play in steering is sometimes when I break on the freeway - but I think that's related to my rotors.
Cv boots look good. No cracks, no oil anywhere
I'll see if I have time to play with it sometime this week to trouble shoot. Bunch of event at work keeping me busy

Sounds more like a snap than a clunk, but I might be missing the rest of the noise from the wind. I would be worried about control arm bushings like t4r4life said as well as tie rods and any other suspension/steering linkage. The CV is unlikely with that sort of noise. You should find a spot with a little bit of roughness.

But yea, I'd jack up your truck on stands and then push the wheels around back and forth to see if there's any play.

If there's any play, and depending where it is, you'll be fine for a few more 4wd runs. Otherwise, it'll just be really annoying on the road for the next couple of years. The main thing you need to worry about is if rod end, or a steering link is what happens when that stuff fatigues and breaks on the freeway. If it's what I think it is, your wheel will flop, you'll grind to a halt, and you'll have a few hundred in parts to order from http://www.car-part.com.

PS - Have you been in for an alignment since Pismo?

I agree on checking the LCA bushings. Also, check to see if your LCA skid shifted back any (check the clearance between the skid and the front adjustment bolt).
