Lets break in the new year with our first trip :D A buddy of mine wants to go to the river beds in Marysville. I have never heard of this place so I did some research. I guess its around Chads Pad, an ATV track is there as well. He says its pretty sweet. The Yuba River is also right there and we can BBQ for lunch.

If this spot doesnt fall through we can always go up to Bowman Lake or Loon Lake.

Let me know who is in  I wanna test out the new skid plates :D:D

Shad* Pad, I think is what you're referring to. There is decent enough stuff out there by the MX track at Shad Pad, not enough to fill up a ton of your day. You can see all it has to offer in about 10 mins.

However, there is a load more out further on that river. I wheeled for over an hour today out there and didn't touch 90% of it.

Ironically, I was planning on heading out there with my truck, my 4 wheeler, and some guns tomorrow if anyone is interested. If not, it's only 30 mins from my house so I'm pretty much down to go out there whenever.

You can enter it a few different ways. If you look at New Truck Road on the map and follow it out to Hammonton Air Strip it's tons of stuff with a lot of climbing.

I grabbed some pics today. Sorry for the lame stock truck. It's still new.

These are the 2 entrances I know of to the place.

I vote for somewhere a little farther up and out of the valley. Looks like a lot of gravel and sand.but with the temps we are having in the valley right now it will make for a good bbq and meet n greet though.

"Shad pad" mostly refers to the section near " E street mx track" there is a good hill climb section, there are some trails, orchards, empty sandy river bottoms that lead to some cool trails ( if you don't like your paint job) there are still a few muddy sections, and there is also a hidden pond that would be perfect for a BBQ. The pond has pretty cool little rally track around it. It all goes on for miles if you go with some one who has been out there enough to know where to go.

You can also leave out of the back exit, hit the pavement for about 5 miles and then a dirt road for another 5 and it will take you up to the " gold fields" mostly all gravel and that's where most of the pics above^^ were taken.

I couldn't think of the name of the "gold fields" before. Thanks for that!

One thing I didn't like about Shad Pad is it's kind of sketchy as far as some of the people that hang out around there. It looked like there is a homeless shanty town across the river and I don't like to get away from my truck, 4 wheeler, family when I'm out there. One trip to the Walmart parking lot across the bridge and you'll know why.

The bums pretty much mind their own on their side of the river. There is a parking lot where every one parks with trailers and what not. Surprisingly no one seems to mess with anything. But there is always that chance. The gold fields are much more clean, no bums, and you can shoot all you want out there. But the terrain is mostly rocks and gravel.

Whoa... I want to know where this place is. If it is not too far from where I live or even past Sac I would definitely be down to break in the new year correctly to the truck! Too bad I won't have my full out suspension done by then, but even then my current one gets the jobs done pretty well.

    :)

You can probably google map "e-street mx track" that should give you a pretty good location as to the entrance of the shad pad. If you are looking for the gold fields the entrance is towards the north side of Beal AFB.
