Gift card is nice enough, I'll be there Thursday or Friday. Is the waiting room or area worth sitting at or should I hitch a ride and come back later? WiFi?

Haven't been there since the remodel. Hopefully I can get them done Friday when I'm off from work, drinking a beer sounds like a pretty decent way to wait.

I'm a little grateful it happened because 50 bucks off tires makes me happy.

I ordered some 5100s for the front since they were on sale. Done swaps before but never really been super comfortable on front ends with the coil springs and more complication. Anybody local done there's? I'm going to see what the tire shop would charge to do it while my tires are being put on, and also emailed my service manager friend at the dealer but I'm assuming they'll both be pricey.

Don't really have the confidence to do it on my own. I watched the install video on YouTube and it doesn't SEEM that difficult.. but still not a real comfortable area for me. Any advice?

What springs are you putting on the 5100s?

Hopefully there's a meet soon so i can get to meet some of you guys! Cheers and go giants!!

Unless you have a nice spring compressor, I'd just find a shop to do it.
Damn, you found that bumper on CL around here?
    Nice find!

Thinking I'll do my 5100 swap myself or enlist a friend. Called 3 shops and nobody wants to work on customer supplied parts, the only quote I can get is $350 because book says 2.5 hrs labor time.

New tires are in so they'll be on later this afternoon. :woot:

Just got back from America's Tire. LOVE the Hankook Dynapro's, 265/75/16. Difference between these and the Dunlop's is huge, so far I haven't noticed any extra pull on the engine with the larger, heavier tires, though I think it's only 9 lbs per tire.

America's Tire had me in and out in 90 minutes. Good experience with them so far.

350 sounds about right. But if you got the tools just do it yourself.

My tools got stolen and I haven't been able to replace them, but I have a buddy who said he'd help me get the springs swapped where he works and maybe he'll give me a hand also (he has the tools, too).

Always been a little squeamish since I didn't grow up doing that kind of stuff with my dad or anybody and don't want to figure out I didn't do something right while I'm driving down the freeway. Definitely can't pay for it to get done, so I'll have to figure it out. Thanks Jesse.

It's not too bad, once you have the coil overs assembled everything is fairly plug n play. I did the lift on my 4runner in my garage with basic tools. Took about 3-4 hours for the front and I was taking my time. Look up some write ups and you'll be good to go.
