We have two of them working the fire, I think. They both yours? One was working today while the other was at the airport. Our little dog loves the sound of the sky crane. She wants to run outside and look up in the air for it.

Hey Guys, I have a bit of an update but its been very busy as you can imagine. The forward fire spread made it up to French Meadows on the TNF. This fire is going to be split into a North and South zone for management and another base camp will be established in Foresthill. We are supposed to have north winds for the next two days which may cause the flanks to spread back to the south twords Hell Hole, Pollock Pines, Etc. Sorry I don't have time for more but I'll try to update with any significant info.

That's what I heard earlier this morning. Be advised for anyone heading to Tahoe via 50 that those northerly winds have blanked the area in smoke. Placerville is still smokey. Was down at Home Depot and you can see the smoke inside when looking from one end to the other. Pollock Pines is worse. This morning it was like a fog. On the freeway, I had 2/10ths of a mile visibility. Still sort of foggy from the smoke here. Can't see the Sun today. So thick we can see it in the garage (have a window open in there).

Stay safe guys. We were out there in July visiting our son and love the area. He lives on the very eastern outskirts of Placerville and has been giving us updates.

For the life of me I can't imagine what possessed that POS to start this. Him being caught is satisfying but it does no good for the people being displaced and those in harms way having to deal with it. Again, be safe.

For you Bay Area guys, this should give you an idea of the King Fire size with it superimposed. a88bf3e328a2c74ce933593f177b2e02_6521c8d716f9dd4375d3c92eb0f0db6d4682f45d.jpg

Yosemite is currently on fire...again. The Dog Fire. And sadly, a tanker fighting that fire has crashed. It's an S-2T-the crew status is unknown. :(
