It's time to start planning for the 7th Annual Pismo Jamboree! We started planning already, now you guys need to start planning to show up!

    Where: Oceano Dunes SVRA, CA
    When: September 25-27, 2009
    Who: You and your friends!

We've got big plans for this year's event, starting off with a new website!
    Check it out!
    www.pismojamboree.com

The website will be your all inclusive resource for the event, and will have the most up to date information. We will of course be adding to it as more of our planning is finalized, and we will let you know here when new changes have been made to the site.
As of right now you will have to post up here to be added to the "attendee list", but soon we hope to have it so that you can add yourself directly on the website.
One of the things we are really excited about is this year's GPS Challenge. We have big plans for it and I've already done one prerun in our planning for it. This will be one area of the website you will want to pay attention to for changes, as we add more details, rules, hints, etc...
So, check out the website and give us your feedback!
    www.pismojamboree.com

I hope to see all the same faces and many new faces,
    Chris

For those who have never been, here are the pics and trip report from last year's jambo.
2008 Pismo Jamboree Pics and trip report

This is open to all toyotas no matter what forum you hang out on. Heck even bring your friends who drive non toyotas. The more the merrier! :D

I will be coming with probably a few people, going to have RZR as well, what does most of the crowd cruise around in trucks or atv/utv's?

Most everyone in the group cruises around in their trucks, but there usually are some that bring the other toys to play around on as well. Sounds like we might have more people bringing their toys this year.

    Just some updates:

    1. Check out the current Attendee List

    2. Check out our growing list of sponsors and raffle prizes.

    3. The tshirts and sticker designs are done and should be up on the website soon along with the clam chowder/bread bowls and the shopping cart so you can pay for it all. I'll post up when we get that up. We're just waiting for final pricing on the shirts and the chowder.

Bummer! Although you should check out Surf N Turf in Nov. which is another "don't miss" event.

What is the expected cleaning/maintenance after a pismo trip? Ive always wanted to get a paddle tire or w/e for my yz250 and take it, now that i have my tacoma its possible. Just curious if its going to cost me $$ after the trip to fix sand damage etc and what I am going to need to clean because i hear that sand can mess up yo stuff. THX in advanced =]

Assuming you don't do anything stupid like drive in the surf (which will get you a nice ticket anyways), roll your rig, or run into something, then there really is no sand "damage". It is much more forgiving than desert scrub brush. I suggest going to a carwash and spraying off your truck and underneath your truck, just to get the sand and more importantly, the salt spray from driving on the wet sand. Other than that, vaccuming out the inside, if you're into having it clean in there.

Oh yeah, depending on how crazy you get, opening up the air box, knocking out the filter and possibly vaccuuming out the airbox if there's sand in there. That and trying to get the permasmile to go away on Monday when you go to work. :D

    ############################## Update #########################################

Here are a few important updates on the event.

    1. Event Store- The tshirts, stickers (2008 and 2009), Splash Cafe clam chowder bread bowls, and chowder bowls are all available in the Event Store. The clam chowder definately needs to be preordered by you, otherwise you probably won't get any unless someone is a no show. To insure you get a tshirt or sticker, those should also be preordered, although we do plan on having a few for sale at the event. You do not have to pay through paypal or use a credit card to order, there is the option to select "Bank check, money order, other" during your checkout if you prefer to pay us that way at the event. This will get your order in and then you can pay and pick up your order at the event. If you do this, be sure to go through the whole checkout procedure and get your confirmation email of your order, this insures that we got it.

    2. Attendee List- We are at 89 vehicles at this moment!!!! If you or any of your friends are planning on going but haven't got on the Attendee List, then please post up here or pm me so I can have Lance add you to the list. We are trying to keep an accurate list of who is coming, this is very helpful to us and our sponsors. So please let me know if you or your friends plan on coming. First name and vehicle will suffice, location is an added bonus just so people see where everyone is coming from.

    3. Our Sponsors- I can't say enough about our sponsors, they rock! Please remember them when it comes time to outfit your rig or camping gear. Here are our newest sponsors since the last time I listed them.

Bluey Fab Corporation - stickers and 100 10% off Gift Certificates
    Expedition One - TBD
F-O-A Shock Absorbers - 15% off coupon except bypass shocks
Hi-Lift - Demo unit for our technical seminar, stickers
Napa Valley & Beyond - 1 Staun Tire Deflator 0-30 PSI (Adjustable), 1 Hi-Lift Handle Keeper (Red), 1 Receiver Shackle
    Powertank
Roxie Market & Deli - Four $25.00 gift cards
Smittybilt - black G.E.A.R seat cover
Vroom Foods - Seriously Caffeinated Foosh Energy Mints blaster packs
Unionjack is donating his billet shift knob he won last year.

    4. GPS Challenge - I am working on this right now and should be adding more info about this year's challenge soon.

Thanks and can't wait to see you all out there,
    Chris
