l love the weather and various terrians. I purchased a rifle from tim (on here) this weekend and it was a bit rediculous. I had to apply for a firearms safety license (take a test) even though I already had a handgun license and am a registered rifle, shotgun, and handgun owner. I also had to have a lock purchased in the last 30 days. So even though I already have 5 chamber locks at home I cant bring in one of those I need to buy a new one or provide the make model and serial number of my safe. And dont get me started on the whole address thing. Cuz having two addresses at the moment could be a mess on the backround check.

The f*ck? New locks and all? makes me glad I built mine and bought em before they started getting strict. CA gun laws are so ridiculous lately. One thing I HATE. My wife was asking if I could ever move back to the Bay Area. No way. At least not CoCo County, SF or Alameda.

New lock thing has been around for years. I don't get it either.

The new guns I have purchased have always come with a lock. This is my first private party deal.

That might be why I haven't. I've never bought used or private party.

The first time I experienced it, I actually walked into the gun shop with the same lock I had to buy new that day, and I had just bought it from the same store a week prior. Make and model of safe at home too, IIRC, for proof that your guns aren't all stored in the kids closet I guess. As with most CA gun laws, doesn't make sense to me, but someone somewhere thought it was genius.

I dont have kids... I have most my guns locked but I keep a few hidden with a mag nearby in the house. If I had kids they would all be locked per california law. Not because I purchased a gun lock when I bought the gun.

x2. My long guns are locked up. Others are hidden around the house for the 'in case' for my wife or I while either of us are home. I've also got one on my hip every day, :anonymous: so more so for her when she's home alone working.

No hate here. Build that thing into somthing nice. My wifes dream car is a built 4runner or land cruser. Ill probably meet her in the middle with a 3 inch lift, 35 all terrians, sliders, Alloy plate bumper and IFS skid.

Lol :stayontopic: It's a BS thread. We just saw MJ and Jason's adolescent pictures for heavens sake. Also, says the guy who owns a gun shop, like you haven't posted your cerakote jobs here.

It's sad that that's the barrier between legal/illegal.
