    Parents came out to S Dakota to vist so i got a chance to play tourist over the weekend which was cool cause i come from a tourist town so i don't get the chance to play one very often. Weather was crap but we made the best of it.

    Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse (Carving in Progress), Bear Country, and the Badlands.

    That Crazy Horse monument is HUGE! I had snapped this picture of the scale model in the foreground with the actual monument in the background. In this shot, the monument itself is over a mile away!

    That whole area of the country is breathtaking. Looks like it was a great trip! :)

    I'd heard that they were been offered federal funds to help complete the project but turned it down. They want to build the entire monument from private donations, so it may never be completed.

    In the gift shop they have stats on the thing. When/If it's completed, Mount Rushmore will fit on the outstretched arm and the horse's nostrils will be something like 15 feet in diameter.
