Going camping on matagorda with some friends before school starts a few questions and confirmations.

I was thinking about making a quick camper tent thing out of pvc and tarp for the bed for this one time event so i could camp out in the back of the truck. has anyone done this or has any ideas?

I've also been looking at what you should do for driving in sand sense this is my first time. I have a 09 OR 4x4 with the stock rugged trail tires and from what I've heard all I really need to do is air down my tires if the sand is soft and I should be good right?

Also if you have any general beach camping tips I've only been lake camping haha

Thanks!

You should be fine on the beach unless you are getting in the super soft stuff. Stock tires do good in sand since they don't dig in. Plus your 4x4 I wouldn't worry about airing down unless you start to get stuck.

Baby powder works good to get sand and salt off you.

Don't turn your tires or stop in the soft stuff and you'll be fine. Watch for boards with nails in them also.
