Great trip report! Good to see you finally did a "mild" trail. In a few years you'll look back and tjonk Kingston Peak was an easy trail! I do have a slight issue about you "driving on the tundra to avoid some rocks". Please don't do that! The tundra is a very fragile Eco-system that we don't need to be destroying. Trails are being closed hand over fist and we all need to do our part to keep them from getting closed. So please "stay the trail". Your truck is way more capable than you give it credit for, and soon your driving skills will improve too. Be patient have fun and find people with some wheelin experience and go on some trail rides with them. There are plenty on this board (including me, I am available most Sundays). Sorry about the rant but I know you are new to offroading and I don't want you to develop bad habits.

ya, i hear ya. i didnt tread on virgin tundra, however. there was already a path that others had taken around this particular area. i know, it still doesnt excuse it though. and you are right, my truck can probably handle way more than i can throw at it and i just have to gain more experience and confidence in the truck and my abilities. :)
next time, i will go though that area instead of around it :)

Cool man, I don't want to come off as the trail police just lookin out for all of us. Like what was already posted, airing down helps a ton. It gives a ton more traction and really helps the ride quality in the rough stuff, which I am sure your wife will enjoy! I was thinking about one of these for the wifes truck since it has the inverter. Its cheaper and probabley alot faster than my 12 volt compresser.

ya... funny you should mention that. my wife and i can now actually afford to buy a house and we are looking to do so early next year. you can easily buy a house in the $100k-$200k range (and even some new at that price if you dont mind a drive).
