They are talking Ajustable coilovers in the front, idk, not an expert but the 5100s would work for a while, but eventually the front springs are going to sag with 400-500 ibs of skids.

They do start to sag. I just had to get some new coilovers with a higher spring rate because my front end sags quite a bit since the bumpers and winch.

Right - that makes sense. Ok, so I think I have a plan:

    - wheel it moderately for a bit with sliders, 5100's, TSB, etc.
    - when I'm ready to wheel harder get the bigger coils, more lift, skids, etc.

Thanks all! Any suggestions on which sliders to go for?

I'm reading one now on TTORA: . They have a nice catalog of the common options for the Taco. I really like the design of the AllPro but they only offer a bolt-on version. The Demello are nice, but no kicks. The CBI also look good, but with DOM & kicks, they'd be $475 - kind of pricey. However, 4xInnovations has a set with DOM tubing and kicks for $235 (!!), but they require a LOT more welding as seen here:

    I'd appreciate opinions.

I thought allpro sold weld on sliders. They said the bolt ons are supposed to be pretty strong.

Maybe it's me, but I can't find the weld-on's on their site. I saw a video where they hammered a truck outfitted with the bolt-on's and they do seem strong indeed. Honestly, the CBI and 4x are temping thogh. I need to find a good welder locally first and see what the total financial damage would be. I tried to learn to weld once but didn't spend enough time at it to be of any use...

I dont know where the other guys are located at but i know Allpro is somewhere in cali, could save a little bit on shipping if you picked them up. I know what ya mean tho ive been lookin to replace my N-fab's for some sliders, i dont know who i would end up going with.

Avid has some nice sliders for a good price and Brandon's cool as hell too. I think he can add a kick out to them and he give's a TW discount. I know a couple dude's running AllPro skids and they hold up. They are 7g steel and will hold up to a decent beeting. They all have their advantages!

Sliders are definitely the first step for a Taco. I just got back from several days in the Mojave and the sliders really added to the capability of the truck on some washed out sections of trail.

All Pro does make a weld on slider. In fact, I didn't buy their sliders because they didn't have bolt on at the time. But they make excellent equipment.

I elected to go for the Demello bolt ons. They are very well made, with great welds and a great finish. Love them and highly recommend them.

Not sure actually, I know they are lighter than the other options. They are normally $270 on sale for $150. These do not work with your sway bar as they are re-designing new ones to do just that.

I dont use a sway bar so thats perfect and if it is the lightest that works great since I am looking for better protection over the stock crappy one but with a budget

I just noticed your note, w8n4mud... Thanks for the welcome! I don't think I can make the meet, but it's still under consideration. I'll definitely join up for one of them soon though!!

I have sliders from Stubbs welding on my '03 DC. What do you want to know?

OP, you will get more use out of skids than sliders. Go with Bud Built or ATO, The All Pros are a bit flimsy.

There were several times yesterday sliders would've helped make things less tricky. At no time was I in need of a skid plate.

    Get sliders first.

Yeah, found a nice new trail only about 1.5 hours away on a recommendation from a guy on here.

Armor is who-fucking-knows...spring at the earliest...Kevin told me he probably wouldn't be able to start building on my stuff til Feb, and being as he's got a shitload to build it could take a good long while.

Plus, some of the stuff I have coming from him hasn't even completed the design stage yet (front bumper, sliders, shackle flips).
