Oregon received a bunch of new snow this past week so the girlfriend and I made the trip down to Crater Lake. They received over 50" of new snow in a week. The snow shoeing was excellent. We also met up with Eric (RelentlessTaco) and did some snow wheeling which was also awesome. The snow at the bottom was about 6" of new and at the top was closer to 2 feet. We were breaking trail most of the way up.

Started off with airing down and setting up my camera.

While I was setting up the camera Eric was pulling out a minivan in the background

    Here's what we started with

We didn't get very far and Eric was already pulling out another stuck vehicle (2500 diesel Dodge Ram)

Waiting in the snow while Eric pulls the guy out.

I'm excited about the snow conditions

    Onward we went

Had some fun in this open area that had about 16"+ of fresh snow on.

I thought Eric was heading out so we put the camera down but he ended up coming back and we snapped a few quick pictures.

We went on in some deeper stuff where I eventually got stuck for a minute. A few quick scoops with the shovel and I was out. My transmission shifter was acting funny afterward so I decided not to push my truck as much and we turned around and took a different trail to the top.

On our way down we found this Chevy that wasn't making much progress going up or down. I went around him with ease as Eric followed. Eric pulled him out and we went on our way.

Towards the end of the trip Eric found some pit to play in. I wanted to join but I wasn't sure on what was going on with my transmission so I didn't push it.

Overall it was a great trip. The conditions were perfect. Both trucks have 3" lifts with 35's. Eric ran KM2's at 8psi and I have MTR's at 5psi. I think the MTR's did much better than the KM2's.

Eric, feel free to add any more pictures and let me know if you want higher quality pictures of your truck.

I think the shifter cable is frayed and binding up. I haven't taken it apart yet but when I had my girlfriend shift while I was holding the cable it feels like one of the cable strands is broken loose and binding things up. I'll take it apart today to see exactly what it is.

Yeah I got excited with the camera. I'll process the videos and upload them. It's too bad we didn't film coming down. That was fun. It was like desert running in the snow. Let me know which pictures you like and I'll send you the full size ones.

I have another peak I can drive up to around here that hits like 8200-8300ft. It sits higher than anything but one mountain next to it thats 9500 ft so you have practically a 360* view at the top. I dont think I can make it up there til like june-july though with all the snow

That looked like a great time.

What driving modes did you find yourselves using? 4HI, 4LO, Lockers, a mix of everything?

Thanks. I had a bunch of fun.

Yeah there were a few stuck vehicles. I pulled Eric out once and Eric pulled me out. Well he tried a little and then I shoveled out a little since I was down to the frame.

Yeah I had him do all the work since he looked like he enjoyed it.

    Thanks.

I made them. They have TL projectors in them.

They were both 4x4. In that kind of snow it doesn't matter if you're 4x4 or not. If you're not aired down you aren't going to get around very well. Also, they were both diesels and very heavy in the front.
