Skate Creek & High Rock (part 2)

.....continued from part 1. Part 1

Looks like we'd found a little fun and still no snow/ice to block our way.






But then, we finally can to a section of snow/ice that went on for a few hundred feet. Much further than my winch rope. It was time to head back down and find another track to explore.






Choices, the path not taken...well we explored both.



We thought the one on the right would take us to an old, washed out bridge over the Nisqually River.



Yup, this was it. Look left, west.



Looking right, east.



The source of the Nisqually is right off of Mt Rainier. Spring melts can get very interesting. This damage occurred several years ago.




Never did make it up to High Rock, maybe next time. A fun day, all in alll. With great company. Thanks Mark.
