My right rear wheel slid off the edge of a small concrete bridge on a rainy afternoon. Left rear wheel and diff housing were on the concrete with the entire rear right wheel in the air. The front left wheel was also completely in the air with the truck teetering on 2 opposite tires and the the diff housing.

Engaged locker and drove right back onto the bridge with zero drama.

Big tires, big lift, Lots of stuff's.
I had a locker on my 07 Tacoma and it helped out I liked wheeling when it was locked. I just went wheeling in my 4runner yesterday and I dont have a locker and I broke trail for two trucks that had them. I had to winch about a 10ft section but a locker would have not gotten through it without help from a winch. Even without the locker I think my 4runner is much more prepared for wheeling(this is because of more lift, tires, bumper and winch)

wow David K..like you should talk..you're an idiot! exactly where have YOU been that actually needs any traction system?..and im not talking about the hard packed sandy beaches of baja mexico that you are always using in your airing down examples. when was the last time that you have been out on a "serious trail" here in SoCal?..and what was that last trail you were on?

i like how you call out whippersnapper for not wheeling..when he does not to claim to wheel in the first place!

just because you wheel on hard packed sandy beaches in baja mexice does not qualify you to judge on what a "serious trail" is!

    Have a great evening!

There was this one time in a mall when...

Actually, it hasn't saved me, but it saved my boss and his dump truck!

The story goes... We had just loaded 4 cast iron bath tubs into his dump truck, along with some old pine doors. Heavy, very heavy. Each bathtub weighs easily 4-500lbs, and the doors(old solid panel doors) weigh about 150 each, I can't recall how many there were... About 7-8... Anyway, he backed out of the yard, and it was raining! And he got stuck. Really stuck, up past the center of the wheels, resting on the axle. So I attached a rope from my front tow hook, attached to his truck and pulled him out with the rear locker on. Tacoma's a pretty impressive little truck.

slighly off topic front locker experience...

just over this past weekend we completed an epic 120 mile no pavement run from Barstow to Lake Big Bear. :D

started in the desert with light rain and ended up in Big Bear at night during a medium snow fall. there was a portion of the trail that had a steep incline in a turn with a nice camber and a huge rut. under the fresh snow was packed ice so we were sliding off the trail and into a huge rut to the side of the mountain..luckily there was enough snow so there was no damage to anybody..anyways, after a few attempts to make it up i locked the front only and gassed it out of the rut and side of the mountain..everyone esle were able to eventually get in my freshly laid tracks and make it out safely..but after strapping and pulling Balckhawke88 out of the rut.

they way i was stuck in the rut it was best to lock it up in the front only and kinda "front dig" out of it..
