    neglect, mostly.
i wouldn't waste my time bending a piece of flat bar like that... i'd just weld a length of angle iron over two of them. but still, neat concept and perfectly applicable.

I just welded the head of both rear bolts to the bottom of the winch plate. Couple new bolts doesn't really cost much if I ever decide to take the winch off.

    Ineptocracy:

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) -a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of an ever diminishing number of producers.

my thought exactly! you could cover both bolts on one side with a long piece of angle iron and put on a couple of tiny passes at each end and be done, much better idea imo

Or just use security bolts. Use bolts with different patterns (two dots, pentagon, torx with center stud, etc.) to further discourage theft.

X2. All you have to do is put a couple of good tacks on the bolts and that should be enough to keep someone from stealing it.

I'm not worried about someone stealing mine because they would have to take my entire bumper and that would be one hell of a job lol.
