Did you ditch the other bedrack?

 

No sir. I actually kept your bed rack and ditched the one that goes over the softopper. It sat up way too high for me. Sold it to a friend who cut it so it sits a lot lower. Your bed rack is bomb...in fact I have 2 or 3 Az tw members that love it and want to take measurements from it to build one of their own.

 

Looks good. Is it tall enough that you can still retract the softopper with the rack in place?

No you could not retract topper with bedrack on. I had all sorts of headaches with that bedrack, which is why I got rid of it. I do want to have another built that goes over my topper though...

 

Got home last night from a mini 3 day expo, it was super cold but a blast. Took my 35mm camera so pics will be up in a few days.

It was about 500 miles round trip from Salt Lake, probably around 80% dirt roads. West from Utah Lake to Nevada boarder, then East back. If I had more time I would have explored more. When I get my film developed I'll try to write up a trail report.

 

4... I'd never seen your truck, your sig shows you have a lower profile rack.

If it operates anywhere close to how my bestop retracts i would say no.

I'm pretty sure I've driven those exact roads. Cool area out there for sure.

 

You've probably driven 90% of the dirt roads in Utah

 

sweet man looks like a pretty nice trail, wered did you start on dirt roads? were you out by little sahara?

 

^^ Dirt roads started just after Eagle Mt outside of Lehi, they continued all the way out to Nevada and back to just north of Delta. Traveled back on the road north of little sahara on the last day.

 

He has a low profile Box Rocket rack we used on the Epic WY, MT, CO adventure in addition to the huge over topper rack.

 

thats sweet, im hoping to get some guys when it warms up alittle and head out around that area to do some exploring.

 

I really like Box Rocket's rack and the collapsible tent. This gives me an idea. I have a 6x10 landscape trailer I can drive two motorcycles on. I put on (as needed) two wheel chocks and a truck box to store gear/helmets and tools. I was thinking... how cool would it be to build a rack on top of the trailer that I can still fit the bikes under (duck when parking!) and put the tent on top of that rack? Then I have a covered area to lock up the bikes while camping above them and if the weather sucks, I don't have to break camp to use the truck. Hmmm...... Here's the trailer loaded with our older bikes (Sorry but it's the only pic I have of it with the stuff all on). She and I both have Yamaha FZ1 bikes now.

 

You won't be the first to explore that idea. Saw a trailer build recently that did the same thing with a quad and tent rack above the quad.
