I've used google earth a bit, not google maps. Usually I use my family's TOPO software, but it's maybe a little pricey and inefficient for what you are doing right now. They used to have an online version but it looks like they've merged with Trails.com, so you could check there but I don't know if you can draw routes on the maps.

Is there a serial number or vin on these? Just curious how one registers a military vehicle.

If they don't you can just goto the DMV and as long as it meets the requirements in your state to be street legal they will give you a vin for it

Understood. It's 6.5 for me. I decided to go, but I had to think about it first.

Awesome picture! Did the Denali Hwy about 7 years ago when I had my 03 Tundra, but didn't have beautiful weather like that!

I absolutely love it up here! October-November is the only time I don't like here, not enough snow to ski/board but the cold sets in. I love every other month though.

About 12 years. (Except for my time in the Philippines as a service missionary) I'm 21, but have lived in SLC, UT, southern Utah, Germany, and Valdez, AK before moving here to Anchorage.

The yukon ones were a big disapointment. Kind of cool for me seeing them in areas I've been to or have been wanting to visit though. Also how has it taken me this long to find this thread?!

I was super disappointed with the Yukon ones as well. When is that other show supposed to air filmed here in AK? I seem to recall this October or November on History Channel... Let me dig a little

Here is the thread from alaska4x4network (which for some reason glitches and I cant register for!)
