looks good. 2k is a little steep. but a road armor bumper will out live most trucks.

Some years ago Road Armor prototyped a bumper (pretty much the same design as they ended up offering for 2005+ models) for ???? - 2004 Tacos.

They never did put it into production, so far as I know ... I think it was back around 2006 or 2007 I contacted Road Armor to ask when the prototype would become an actual product, and they finally told me they'd pretty much given up on it ...

Thats a HUGE discount on Road armor stuff! They even have a special where you buy a front with guard and the base rear and get a free 12500lb superwinch for the front and an 8500lb superwinch for the rear totally free! That sounds pretty good too. I just dont care for their front design that much, the rear looks pretty nice though.

It has a 4-link system in the back, extra fuel tank it´s 35 gallons and a fulepump so you can fill the orgina tank while driving, it has a 4:88 and a front air lock, it has ranco 9000 shocs in the back and 3" light racing struts in the front, Artick trucks tires 38"x15,5" we had to change the brake system and use brake pumps from landcruser 80 and the brakedisk is built by artick trucks in Iceland ,we did this so we could use 15"x14" wheels for better flote on the snow when you let the air out, It has a lift kit about 2" only on the boddy and then the flairs and running bords,2x air pumps one for the tires and one fore the locker, KN filter, fluricent lights under the car and some lights in the front. inside is the GPS, VHF, CB, and NMT phone and I can´t remember anything else
It dosn´t look to goot on the front but I like the rear bumper, but do you know the weight of that thing?
    looks pretty heavy

I just priced this rear bumper out for my 09 and they still want $1479 shipped. That is still a little steep for me. I need to find out what a factory 09 bumper costs. If it close in price then maybe I can get the insurance company to buy me this one instead.

I still need a rear bumper and I cant find anything that I like. I dont want a tube style bumper that allpro has. Anyone have anything comparable to this road armor style? I cannot believe how hard a time Im having to find a solid style rear bumper.

I like the rocktek bumper but they apparently dont exists anymore.

For those who cut the bed for the high-clearance bumpers, do you treat the cut edge somehow? Repaint?

Seems like that would make it look okay (if the cut wasn't perfectly straight), but it wouldn't protect the raw metal from water/salt (for the colder regions). Water could seep down into the weather stripping and over time, the rust would grow above the stripping. Of course, the time it would take for that to happen would be pretty long and might not matter, just wondering what folks do...

That's what the silicone is for, it is sealed from water/salt, etc. :boink:

no need to, you're not gonna see it, and it is already sealed...

That armortec bumper is pretty sick. I'm really digging the high clearance bumpers, but I just cant push myself into cutting my bedside.
