    There's soo many different variations of offroading across the world/country - it'd be nice to get an idea of what types of offroading everyone is doing and what/how you build your rigs for it. What types of cultures do you have in your area of offroading? ETC. Answer the questions below and if you have pictures - post 'em. This is all about the terrain. If you wheel something other than your tacoma, your input still applies!! Post it!! 4Wheeled vehicles only please (no ATV experience). Please - no debating on why or what people do. If you have questions - feel free. Just make a note to understand each others culture.

    If you were just starting out (in your area), what modifications would you recommend first? A/T or M/T tires./ recovery points/ skid plates

    If you're a seasoned wheeler - what other types of modifications would you recommend? Lockers/ sliders/ more lift/ taller tires/ winch

    What's your biggest concerns about safety while offroading? two way trails with ATVs and recovering vehichles

    What's the most important thing you'd recommend to someone (about safety)? Stay sober and observant

    What's the worst breakage (or carnage) you've experienced? popped a tire on top of narrow ridge with 150' drop either side

    What's the worst breakage (or carnage) you've seen other people experience? U-joints/ axles/ tire shredded all on one climb

    If yes - what are the trail ratings? yellow, blue, black...i think

    What's the minimum requirements to go trail riding in your area? (in other words, what's the lowest vehicle requirement you'd expect someone to have to go offroad with you) no parks here, so run what ya brung. i would say a good minimum would be 32's/33's, at least factory skids, a fullsize spare, yank strap, sliders, at least one good recovery point, and a CB, for organized runs.

    What's the biggest & most built type of rigs that you see wheeling in your area? (you know the ones.... basic description)

    If you were just starting out (in your area), what modifications would you recommend first? (list modifications only please) sliders, skids, mild lift,MT's

    What's your basic description of what trail etiquette is to you? Respect. respect others (wheelers, ATV/dirtbikers, spectators) respect the trail (you are either on private or govenment owned land, it's a privilage...not a right) no litter, clean up oil spills etc., in fact...clean up someone else's trash if you see any. finally, respect yourself & your rig...don't try something you're not sure you can do and end up hurting yourself or others, or uneccesarily tearing up your rig.

    List some very important trail etiquette that you enforce in your area? (could be lengthy if needed....) i'm big on trash. when i go wheelin' i want to enjoy the sceenery as much as the driving. Don't trash up the trail! Don't like goading either (you know...when people try to get someone to do something they don't want to) No alcohol till AFTER the run is over.

    What's the worst situation you've ever been in while offroad? 3 mile hike at 2am when the tranny shifter on an Aerostar broke (yes, i said Aerostar! they had an electronicly activated 4WD version of those things...they go like hell, but they break easy)

    What's the worst situation you've seen happen to other people? blown differential, massive sheet metal damage

    As often as I can, but legal places around me are pretty much nonexistent.

    What's the minimum requirements to go trail riding in your area? (in other words, what's the lowest vehicle requirement you'd expect someone to have to go offroad with you). I see people mud 2wd stock trucks all the time, but I wouldnt suggest it.

    What's the biggest & most built type of rigs that you see wheeling in your area? (you know the ones.... basic description). Fullsized trucks with massive lifts with mud terrains and 20" wheels. All they ever do is mud

    If you were just starting out (in your area), what modifications would you recommend first? (list modifications only please). Diff breather and tires

    If you're a seasoned wheeler - what other types of modifications would you recommend? (list modifications only please)

    If you were to take a totally new person on the trails with you, what do you teach them (in terms of tips & techniques for driving) before going out? As slow as possible, as fast as neccessary

    What's your basic description of what trail etiquette is to you? Not tailgating the truck infront of you, warning others of possible areas that could get rough, helping a stuck rig if possible, making sure you keep the area clean and pick up garbage

    If you were to take a totally new person on the trails with you, what do you teach them (in terms of trail etiquette) before going out? The slower the better

    What's the worst situation you've seen happen to other people? Friend broke a rear u joint on his YJ 5 miles in the woods, at 9pm (dark as hell), in the rain, on a muddy trail. Fun

    BUDDY SYSTEM!

    Plan? We usually have our jetskis on the hitch. Our plan is to go jetsking and wheel during our breaks. Not too much to wheel at the beach but still fun. But seriously, bring a buddy cause the ocean doesn't care how pretty your truck is.
