No moose, elk, wolves, or bears? That's a tame squirrel...or chipmunk.

No killing anyone... I promise.

Too high. The elevation up there is 9K to 10K. Short summers, not a lot of time for plants to grow so you mostly get rodents...pikas, marmots, etc and scavengers. I've seen a few deer, no elk or moose, and I know there is a healthy bear population but never (thankfully) seen any. Lots of marmots hang out on the highway to warm up in the morning as I found out this last year. I camped, got an early start just after sunrise, and saw about 2 dozen of them scurrying around. There was no other traffic that early in the day.
That's a chipmunk at one of the road side overlooks...can you tell he's been hand fed? I wasn't feeding him but he seemed a little pissed that I wasn't giving him food so I was holding out my hand trying to show him that I didn't have anything for him!

I camped in the wind river range (semi-close to Lander) in early July and I have never experienced mosquitos like that. My short-haired dog got attacked so bad that his eyes both swelled shut. We had to set up camp early because he couldn't see. But it was the most beautiful place I have ever been. No roads, had to hike in about 25 miles, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. WY is one of the best kept secrets in the US... as long as you are west of the center of the state. ;)

Damn!!! I was just reading through the first post to see what kind of mileage I would be traveling for this whole thing and Holy fuck! I'm easily looking at over 1800 miles of driving and that isn't even counting the trails, sort of. I just put in from city to city to city.

The way back from Telluride, CO to my house takes me through Moab so unless I am short for time I should at least hit Hell's and Fins N'Things on the way through:D

    :spy:

    darn!

    But yes..major fire time haha

Yea they can be bad. I think we will be okay though..but every year is different. It'll all really depend on the snowfall that year and how fast it dries out ect.

Yea sure man..of course..we will have to watch our numbers as i don't want really more then 10 rigs on a trail in general. But thats kinda flexable givin the trail ect.

I was going to invite some ExpoP guys too so sure! go for it

    yep

its gonna be quite the journey :D

I'm interested in leg 1 I've ran Black Bear a couple of times and I'm interested in how Morrison compares.

I'll know more once the time gets closer.

Welcome to the site. Good to see some guys are showing some interest in it!

And Brady, good to know about cutting out that 700 miles from leg 3.

Dam those Mosquitos sound horrendous. I freaking hate bugs like that.
