When I get home I will start wiring my front/rear hitch mount winch setup and be a lot more confident to go out by myself. But it's more fun with other people anyway.

lol, now he has to come!

as a side note.. any second gen who wants my Wheelers AAL and will be on the 2nd leg to of this trip can have them. I don't want to ship them and they just aren't worth "selling". They will serve someone well who just wants an interim solution.

and yea :woot: for a big weekend of truck tear down and build up for me! Expos, brake lines, DSM UCA's, crank coilovers up an inch, and mount the ax and shovel that have been just floating in my bed for the last few months... Is it saturday morning yet!?

You folks need to come up with some kind of plan for the San Juan's. If you DON'T, at least have some kind of an almost itinerary/regimented activity as a cover for the powers that be, or it is likely that AT LEAST ONE of your party will will fall victim to chronic if not fatal G.F. This could very well infect the rest of the party leading to total anarchy or at a minimum, missing some of the better sights. Check your family histories for any cases of G.F. now, better safe than sorry. There is no cure for G.F.

Every "named" trail in the Juan's is clearly visible in Google Earth, right down the the rigs on them. Once again ALL the named trails in the SJ's are STOCKER friendly including BB and Imogene. Poughkeepsie Gulch and the numerous sides and spurs are the only exception.

For you "must do" Black Bear folks here is a suggested one day itinerary.
    (I can provide further specifics)

Start, semi early, 8-9 am, BB trail head. After about a mile take a left on an "out and back" to Bullion King Lake for some above treeline trout opportunities and a serenade by the Rockies best "Whistle Pig Chorus". Next, over BB pass and down the switchbacks to "To hell you ride" (guard your wallets). Find the route out of town to Imogene Pass. Enjoy that and descend down to just before (.2 miles) the junction with the Yankee Boy Basin trail (Co rt 26). Turn left on this spur to an excellent camp spot (with lake). Finish up the area as you exit the next day to see the twin waterfalls further up Yankee Boy Basin, then back down to Ouray,
OR find your way up Governors Basin (my sig pic) then back down and out to Ouray.

What CB channel do you folks favor, and is it an "always"?

What is G.F.? All I can think of is girlfriend and I don't see how an itinerary would prevent that. haha and it is also cureable.

    This the best part.

We are hoping to do some harder stuff too while we are there. Like that Poughkeepsie Gulch trail.

Hell yeah, that is the kind of feedback we are looking for. The only thing that could top that is if you come join us and show us the way. I'm sure we will devlop some kind of an "almost" itinerary. :D

Who are the powers that be?
