any info on the earth anchor?

Curious to know if anyone has used the earth anchor? About to get my winch installed and we tend to ride where trees are too small or too few to attach a winch to for recovery. It looks like it could either be very useful or a complete waste of money, any ideas?

It looks worthwhile to me. I have seen guys use real fluke style boat anchors in sand/snow. This might work too if the ground is hard enough and there is nothing else to anchor to.

Seems like it'd be a tough SOB to get back out of the ground when you were through with it. I'm preferential to the Pull Pal myself.
