Off Road Safety Clinic

Heading off this morning to 4x4 safety clinc put on by local 4x4 club. This is my second time, the first was with my old GMC. Looking forward to going through the paces.

Was a well done class with about 75 taking

2 hours of class room time covering

• Picking a line
• Safety gear
• Proper use of equipment
• Basic rules of off roading

Demonstrations of

• Lockers
• Handyman jack
• winch
• recovery setup

Lunch then hit the trails
Drove

• Stairs
• Stopping starting and backing on hills
• tire placement
• frame twister rocks and following guidance of spotter

A good introduction to off road, and plenty of pointers for more experienced They have been teaching these classes for 20+ years


Very impressed with the coverage teaching style, and the volunteers that provided attention at each phase of the class.
