Right size lift?

It will be a while before I can afford a lift but I wanted to hear your opinions. I was thinking like a four in the front and three in the back with 35s? Is that to big, and will it rob power/gas mileage alot?

You 4x4 or prerunner? If 4x4 you will destroy your cv's in short order. 35's without a regear will probably suck. Lost power and anytime you go up in tire size and add more weight mpg are going to go down.
