A question about tow (recovery) straps.

    I am buying a set of recovery straps and from what I've read you shouldn't use the ones with the steel hooks on the end in case the strap breaks and turns it into a 100mph projectile. This makes sense, but the straps that are looped on the end seem like they could potentially knot themselves to the point where you may not be able to undo them.
    The straps are from Northern Tool, 2" x 30' with the loops on the ends.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    First off, Check out the various purpose built Recovery Straps we offer. The loops are not really meant to tie to. Ideally you should be attaching the strap to your vehicle with a 3/4" Shackle.

    We have talked about putting a kit together, but just have not made it happen yet. I have thought about offering a drawstring bag to throw dirty/muddy straps into. Something like this:

    I carry wood blocks all the time great recovery tool if need be.
