Wow. ok. I can't say I agree with you that it will be better for anything but maybe your dog. But if you think it's what you need then go for it.

But whoever buys your Ruggedized will get a killer tent at a great asking price. GLWS.

Yeah, its not for everyone but the woodstove will make winter camping a dream. The RTT is nice for many reasons but I just enjoy setting camp and leaving it. Outside of getting a trailer I just dont see a good option and I cant justify the cost and space for one. It will be nice to have one tent for everything I do.

Agreed, unless he goes with a canvas tent with a wood stove for heating. But then it's not as convent to set up and take down either. I love my RTT, I'm actually going to use it as my hunting base camp but this year it's just me and another person and he has a ground tent we will see who fairs better OCT 31st In the mountains of steamboat. I'm voting RTT :p

Oh yeah winter camping wise a canvas tent or even just a hunting tent with a wood burner would be better than an RTT in winter. Word of advice, wait for cabellas to do their employee pricing sale and buy it then.

Nope, not canvas. They are made of a light weight tarp like material. The stoves seem to do well with heat and quite a few ice fishers love them for mountain lake hikes in the winter. Ill be getting one large enough to stand up in the middle and also be able to fit a cot in it when I use it for truck camping.

Hit Tepui Fest. Man, that was fun. Rode around in a right hand drive land cruiser with one of the founders. Saw a couple of bands. Watched JLee's kid play with my dog. Saw a neat old landy, and ate like a king (and washed it all down with beer from Discretion Brewery).

Hey everyone I am seriously looking for a RTT, and have narrowed it down to the CVT Mt. Shasta and the Tepui Autana. I have heard great things about both but need some input one which one. Since there are no CVT or Tepui distributers around I can't go look at one closely. Is the stitching well done on both? Are the corners stitched or do they have a rivit in them?

Just ordered a Tepui Autana Ruggedized in Haze Grey! Huge thanks to Adam (Box Rocket) for the tent and all the questions, along with Husky Driver, and anyone who I forgot that I PM'ed. Best customer service I have had :D

Looking forward to giving mine a test drive this weekend. Prolly gonna be low 30's at night... Think I should use heat in the tent to get it warm, or will I be ok in just the mummy bag? I think it is good to 5 degrees...
