After learning how truck suspensions work, I have decided that I will get a first generation Tacoma extended cab instead.

The lengths of the first generation extended cab range from 200 inches -203 inches.

When you bob the bed of a first generation 14 inches, how many inches from the overall length of the truck are you subtracting?

Will the new length be 186 inches - 190 inches?

Overall length - however much you're removing from the bed.

I plan to shorten the length of the truck bed 14 inches. Will that equal a loss of 14 inches from the overall length?

Huh? Yes, if you remove 14" from the bed you will remove 14" from the overall length...

    Yep!

Do you know what bobbing the bed is? Sounds like you may be confused?

Getting a first generation for bobbing purposes is MUCH easier and cost effective as compared to a second generation.

Is it possible to put a tonneau cover or a camper shell on a bobbed bed?

If you bob it to double cab length, yes.

Although many of the posts in this thread are odd to me. This one proved to be the stupidest.

That all depends on one thing. When you get dressed in the morning, do you put you left or right shoe on first?
