A few of us on ToyotaNation just started a feeler thread for another Pismo trip sometime in April. It will most likely be a three day event spanning an entire weekend.

    4WD and 2WD all welcome!!

No date is set yet, we're just trying to see how many people are interested.

Here is the site for Pismo: http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1207

Here are pictures from the last meet: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-roading-trails/29609-pismo-dunes-meet.html#post452962

there aren't really "spots" for camping, you go and set up wherever you want on the beach.. last time we went the beach wasn't anywhere near full, so you shouldn't need a reservation. you should be able to drive up to the gate and buy a camping pass

If you want, you can check reserveamerica.com periodically to get an idea on how many people are going and if you should reserve ahead of time. reservation # starts at 999, and counts down.

Search for "Oceano Dunes SVRA" in california for the date range and it will pop up.
