huh 14 are dead for me. No photo but the links are there and won't load in Flickr..

im about out too really..old man needs to pick it up.

 

Doesn't work on my ipad or Mac..could be my service provider maybe..who knows.

Awesome stuff man. Clarity on these is great. Yours seem like...brighter? but not like over exposed, compared to mine.

Hell I have none in ps at all..and interesting idea.

 

Some I think it's a bit much personally. But most I think look great.

 

I'll start by saying, awesome work Ben. I know its a lot of work to go thru them individually but you definitely learn more that way.

To me, a few of them are a little hot. This one for example.



On mine, I always tend to tone down the brightness as my lens/body configuration seem to always have too much (read: too hot) yellow in them so I take some out. As an example, this is almost the same photo but with softer yellows. To me that is what brings out the details in the highlights.

Granted, a bright sunny day with the sun directly overhead is very, very challenging for our camera sensors to capture. Our eyes see contrast so much better than the sensors. 10 stops on average for human eyes, camera sensors are half of that.

Oh i see. He is saying the yellows tend to be too hot. Not in terms of WB but in color saturation. I actually ironically started pulling a bit of yellow out of mine as i noticed there was just too much yellow in my shot and it make the green to yellowish.

Im sure he will confirm what he was talking about tomorrow.

Kinda hard to find that info on Flickr website. You go under the People menu, then List. Then next to the search bar within that page(not the main search bar) it'll have a hyper link text that says "Who is Following you?"

click that and it'll tell you.

of course you are following like 153 so i bet that helps.

Both actually. But maybe not how you are thinking. All of these Adobe editors have some sort of "brightness" controls and I am not talking about what those controls do to an image.

I am referring to the intensity of individual colors. In daylight captures, that is almost always yellow for me. Reducing the "lightness" is far from reducing the brightness of the image, tho, reducing the lightness of colors like yellow and cyan do reduce the overall brightness of the finished image. This in turn effects what you are referring to as the color palette.

Another factor that cannot be ignored is what the monitor shows you when in the editor. I know your eyes start to roll back into your head when I start talking about color calibration and color space but these are things that impact what you see on your monitor.

 

I hear what you are saying. And if you are happy with the results, that's all that really matters.
