Those xoverland guys are annoying as hell to be honest... though the scenery is cool. They make such a huge deal out of everything and just whine all the time. Bunch of yuppies if you ask me. It's like the video version of Expedition Portal/Overland Journal. Complete with expeditioned out bling grocery getting land cruiser and all the other adventure gear, oh and spinach and gorgonzola cheese breakfast - wtf. So trendy. But hey that's just like my opinion man. What do I know? I'm sure to piss off somebody, I know that.

If I judge this show from this video I must say that I am VERY opposed to it. Tearing up our environment is not (or sure as heck shouldn't be) entertainment...it is what gets us locked out of our public lands. Certainly no Tread Lightly! concepts shown here. Tens of thousands of off-roaders work every day to fight off the reputation of the rip-it up crowd among us and the History channel decides to make a show of the worst among us. REALLY?

If you enjoy our forest and our public lands, why would you support tearing them up? You can oppose this kind of behavior and the History Channel's exploitation of it or get used to driving on the pavement.

The scenery is cool but the guys don't make the show for me, I thought it was odd he was so broken hearted about a little fender damage. But I did see the spinach breakfast and Gorgonzola cheese and got a kick out of that but I still watch it because it's land I've never seen. Piss someone off? Is your cruiser done yet :D:D

    haha...spot on.

    My take on it.
    1. Yuppie film maker stumbles upon an expedition forum while browsing the web.

    2. Sets forth to emulate expedition travelers by traveling into the ever so hostile 3rd world country of Canada. :D

    3. Attempts to create cinematic drama with every event.

Not sure about the others, but Clay was already a skilled cinematographer working for some nature channel(natgeo I think) and after a trip to Africa he was out of work and couldn't find anything right away so he started his own web show. These are not poor slobs who happen to stumble on a good thing and make it big, but they are not über wealthy either. The fender thing makes sense, since it is going to be on camera a lot, and each repare costs money that could be spent elsewhere. Personally if I wanted to watch a bunch of broke ass people run around the woods and eat spam I would watch Doomsday Preppers.

I appreciated the show... but with all shows today it seems that they need a little embellishment and drama to sell it to the masses.

Dempster highway (Yukon) = driving in my wife's corolla
Expedition in the Yukon and NWT means attempting the North Canol road to Norman Wells
