From the pictures they look nearly identical. I understand the trailer thing for camping and all, I know there are a lot of guys on here that use them. Just seems to me like either of these options are extremely heavy. I may be talking out of my head and may have no clue what I'm talking about but seems to me you would want something a little lighter or smaller?

OP, I just registered a trailer with only a bill of sale here in CO a couple years ago. Pretty easy, you just need to pay the State Patrol a $50 fee for inspection and then go register it once you have the piece of paper from them. They run any sort of VIN that pay be attached to the trailer to ensure it was not stolen and then check for working lights.
Do you know how much those things weigh? I think some of those trailers were aluminum to save on weight.

Just did a web search on the M1101 trailer. Looks like it is aluminum construction, but still weighs about 1500 lbs.

I would like one of these to put my RTT on.

These are just the standard pull-behind trailer for military vehicles, mostly HMMWV's. They can definitely haul some weight, have high ground clearance, and are durable. The only downside is that they may be difficult to find replacement parts for, such as wheels/tires, and I have only ever used them with the military "hook" type hitch.

Def great trailers. Pintle hitch. Convert the lighting.
They sit up pretty high , but great for hauling your gear. You can get different canopies for it also. Go for it.

Thanks for all the input guys appreciate it. I was looking at Box Rocket trailer build and think i probably should go the same route. I think a smaller trailer with the track with of the Tacoma will probably be better off road. The stats show this trailer at an overall width of 7 feet.

That exact trailer is for sale here in Kentucky for $1400 and it doesn't have the cage or canvas. I'd take it.

You had better tie your gear down pretty good or it's not going to be where you put it.

Those trailers are bullet proof but REALLY heavy. The price is about right though.

No doubt a good find. If you can deal with the weight and size, do it.
I personally would just use it for hauling around town as it may be a bit cumbersome to load and tow on road trips for us.
    Good luck!
