Good old Murphy's. I was there last month on a Mtn. Bike trip and my Taco (1 of 3)was one of the chase vehicles. It was my sisters turn to drive that day (no wheeling experience) and she drove right up that without even slipping a tire... I was proud. I had to ride my bike up that s.o.b.! only me and one other out of 14 riders made it up without putting a foot down; needless to say I had to rest for about 10min at the top.

Not Murphys, this was about 30 miles before it, you might recognize it though.

You should be proud, I came in from the Shafer switchback side which evidentally most start off on the mineral switchbacks. LOL either way it was fun. Kudos to you on riding your bike out there, it was 112 on Tuesday.

I'm going to be in Moab the last week of August for some mountain biking. I doubt my buddies are going to want to do much wheeling, but screw 'em. I'm sure I can find a guide out there.

"no room for error" indeed. The group I went with has been doing that ride every year for 20 years! they said they've seen all kinds of crap on that one climb: a cj5 jeep dangling off the side (nose down) with webbing tied to a rock so it wouldn't go anywhere till they got back (presumably), a 3/4 ton truck with a 20' camper trailer JACKNIFED in the middle somehow (hefty towing bill i'm sure), a tour-rental wrangler on it's side at the top of the climb (they made it up and tipped on some rocks at the top, off trail), and the most amazing: my uncle in law-to be- drove a 2wd Chevy LUV with bald radials up it! i wish I could have seen that.

Lot's of cliffs and shelf roads, some fun climbs and some boring stuff too, more video/pictures to follow. Scenery was unreal. Definately recommend taking this trail if you have the oppurtunity. Be prepared for a very long day.

A trailer ont that trail? Really? I think they got what they deserved on that one. Not a difficult trail but defianately the oppurtunity exsists to have some issues if you don't pay attention. Overall just about anyone could run White Rim if they just use their head.

No guide needed, I was by myself (with a passenger) and saw only 2 people all day long. Use good common sense and it can be alot of fun.
