Hmmm, so I sent it off. Wasn't going to say anything about sending it off because well really no need to. Then I thought to myself geee I hope someone reads this. Either way it'll get read by someone in my reps office and they will either pass it on or roundfile it. Thought to myself. Whould my rep actually care and if so would he really do anything about it. Thought hmmm, it would be nice if they would just reply and let me know that it was received and read. Well apparently it was...

Too bad they have no idea what I'm talking about. This is the first paragraph of the response I got from my rep

Now let me ask you, do you actually think they give a shit about a small percentage of people trying to keep a 9 million acre ORV area open? Willing to bet the majority of emails sent get deleted by their staff and the ones that do reach a rep probably get put at the bottom of the pile.

The response I received only confirms my hypothesis.

I agree with you on that bit it does make one think. With a staff and I'd imagine a busy schedule what actually gets to the reps and what they actually read is probably miniscule. Their priorities are the more popular items like health care, stimulus packages and other things hotly debated and high profile items.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to reply to that with a copy of the email that was sent on my behalf and inquire as to where the breakdown in communication is. I'm just on my iPhone right now and it isn't practical to do so from here right now with my battery dying

You're right - which makes it next to impossible for the "little guy" to get heard. Unfortunately, and especially in NJ where corruption is rampant, most politicians are only interested in what will get them elected for another term.
