I was thinking of trying to use the bed outlet to power something to air up my tires after I get off the trail, but I haven't found anything that would fit the application yet.

Does anyone know of such a devise that doesn't run off the batter style jumper cables?

I would like to avoid hauling a scuba tank around with me or installing a small compressor in the back of my bed. Just something that plugs into a socket and can air up the tires...

Any help would be nice :)

Viair and QuickAir have compressors that connect to your battery via a spring clamp type connector (similar to jumper cables), and they both work quite well. Many different sizes availible. You would want the "Portable" design.

It should. No idea how much power it will draw....If you get it, you may want to make sure the bed outlet has enough juice to power it, befreo takeing it on the trail.

They should work fine though after I get done with the trail right? I mean it not like I'm airing up a flat tire or anything.

Oh and what is a good trail PSI to keep the tires at? I was thinking around 28-30...

Air pressure largely depends on teh trail. What tires your running, etc.

28-30? Isn't that what you would run on the street?

Depending on the tire, and terrain out here, that could be a good pressure. We have alot of rock and such, and with the OEM tires, I would say 28 psi is plenty aired down.

I never would have thought. I run 28-30 on the road and off road air down to 18-20 for rocky trails.

I want something re-usable, and I don't have to go get filled every trip out there.

Chris, I have Michelin LTX M/S that came with the truck, and I am running 35 PSI on all tires. I cant wait to get rid of these ugly ass tires and get some Yokohama Geolanders A/T-S, I had these on my '94 Pickup and loved them...

I read in one of your posts that you wanted to go to Needle Rock (Castle Rock)? Thats a great place to go, and you dont need to air down for it. I wouldnt air down too much with the stock tires, as they are not that strong, and if something gets into a sidewall, it will damage the tire. FWIW, I have found that 20 PSI is a good pressure for most things out here. Unless you are doing some serious rock crawling, or in deep sand, like 7 mile wash, then you may want to consider going a little lower. :)
