Yeah, by $65.... That's definitely worth it to me, if I'm comparing 4xinnovation HREW vs DOM... $65 for super strong sliders vs really strong sliders? Sign me up!

    especially for weld on sliders.

you could spend $65 less on a product that is more prone to failure, then if it does fail, you have to cut the current ones off, buy stronger ones, then get them welded on, OR just spend the extra little bit of money and buy the stronger ones in the first place.

gotcha.. yea i think mine were one of the first sets he did for the 2nd gen trucks... i'm not saying others dont build strong sliders.. but for the price and the fact that they are DOM.. you cant beat 4xinnovations

I would like to recommend Richard Stubbs HD-SKO rock sliders. I bought them and have been very happy with them. They reinforce the frame and protect my truck well.

Here is a pic of my neighbor welding them up.

I just read on their website that orders are currently being shipped within 3-5 days of the purchase date!

The All-Pros had better not bend. I have a new set of the bolt-ons for my FJC sitting on my back porch. I'll go with the Stubbs when I get a weld-on set for my Taco.

DOM is stronger than HREW, however it will always cost more as well. but as tiger said you can't over build armor!! just remember that piece is there to protect your 30k investment........

one thing of interest when comparing DOM v. HREW

if you use the armor...you'll notice that DOM will dent very easily...but not bed...whereas HREW wont dent as easily...but bends under less force

    strange

So for now DOM is up by 2.

Could I ask how one would know that "DOM" is stronger than "HREW" tubing?

    Just curious

I would argue that is not actually the case. You can easily overbuild armor at the cost of maneuverability and weight. Military history shows us examples of that in numerous ways.

That said, it would be hard to overbuild sliders to the point that you suffered in other areas in an immediately obvious way. But, I think we are talking about "How strong is strong enough?" Is DOM really required in a properly designed slider? Probably not and it does tend to incur a weight penalty.

well true.. i guess there is an extent when it becomes to much.. however i hardly think going DOM on sliders has any fall backs... again this is the piece thats protecting your 30k investment.. and short of my front skid plate they take the biggest beating out of everything...
