Well the insurance quote is in, looks like I will have $1880 to get the bumper new head light assemblies and some needed clips. So maybe no out of pocket expense at this point.

I'm going to look into the sheet metal style All Pro bumper instead of the powder coated one so I can save some money. I can rattle can the bumper when it gets here and it will be cheaper to keep clean looking if it gets scraped.

They have already said it was up to me to get it fixed or take a pay out. All I have to do is tell them I don't want to use a preferred shop and they will send me a check. I have USAA, so they don't jerk you around like other companies I have had. There are three generations of my family with them so I don't think they will make a fuss over it.

As of now it's looking like the All Pro front bumper, with PIAA 4" head lights and the IFS skid plate is going to go on the truck. I still have to get the check sent to me, but they have already agreed to pay out what their adjuster has sent in.

The worst part was the crash, it's looking like buy the time I get the new front bumper and new head lights it will be about $1500 so I will have some extra to go cash to pay down some old debt.

All Pro front bumper, IFS skid plate, 4" PIAA head lights and new headlamp assemblies.

If 1.75" lift is the goal, How about the OME 884's? ANd the N140s Shocks? With that bumper, they should give you about 2" lift on your truck. I can even make some spacers to keep your truck level side to side if you like.

That's really nice of you man I just have to watch the budget, I have $1,850 to spend. I know I can get the Bilstein 5100 for $189 shipped from downsouth motor sports and

Right now the shopping list is looking like

    • New headlight assemblies $174.99
    • misc Clips $20
    • All Pro Front Bumper $699.99
    • IFS Skid Plate $269.99
    • PIAA 4" ligts $219.00
    • Bilstein 5100 $189.99
    • Shipping on all $175ish
    • Total of $1748.96
    • So lets say $1750 to be safe.
    • Then an alignment $65
    • Grand total of about $1820ish

So i'm at the max on my budget with everything...I will have to look at how much the OME items cost. My other concern with lifting over 2" is the affect it might have on other parts down the road. I'm no expert on 4x4 stuff so I have to be careful and not move to fast.

Chris, what would the spacer do for me. Some education on that would be helpful and thanks again for your offer.:)

Looks like a good list so far. :) My $0.02.....If preloading the OEM coils, the ride can become pretty firm. By getting the OME coils, your not preloading them, but getting the lift via an increase in spring rate. I have calculated the Preloaded OEM springs to give between 650# and 720# spring rates (depending on amount of preload), and the OME's have 590# rate. With the 5100's and the OME 884's, you can throw a little preload ( .85 for example) down the line, if you feel you need a little more lift. The OME springs are NOT side specific, so they tend to give a slight lean on the driver side due to the extra weight. I can machine out a spacer to account for this. Let me know. :)

There are clips on the bottom of the headlights that are destroyed. So i have to get new ones but it's kind of good because i'm going to go with these http://www.car-stuff.com/carparts/toyotatacoma20052008replacementty0508chl1.html

Chris the OME look like they are out of my price range ATM. But I may have come up with a pretty good alternative.

I was thinking the Eibach 8292.620
http://thmotorsports.com/eibach/eibach_pro_truck_lift_kit/8292620/i-236863.aspx and the Bilstein 5100 Set at 0 or .85. So the lift would be from 1.60" to 2.45" with the Eibach springs, can someone confirm this. (I'm not sure I like the idea of going over 2" though)

Another question, will the new springs and shocks help with the extra load of the all pro bumper? (I still have no idea how much it weighs)

The lift given does not include the extra weight of the bumper. I expect the bumper to push the front end down about .5" or a little more.

So it would be better to set the 5100 at .85 and then the springs would be 1.6 so a total of 2.45. Then take into account the heavier bumper would drop it down to 1.8-1.95" lift in the front...
