Burried my shit to the frame. Had to replace the front diff seals on both sides and a CV boot. NTM clean out 300LBs of mud that had packed into every nook and cranny of my undercarriage. After that I had to use a snow shovel to get it off my driveway. Never again!

I think there is a liquid cooled, sealed alternator out there.

I just recently went mudding and ended up blowing a seal in my transmissions, flooded the inside, and fried two amps.

on the 1st gen.
5 sets of brake pads in 2 years, 2 sets of calipers
4 cv axles
2 sets of front wheel bearings about to go on the 3rd set, the rear set was done once
air filters....lost count
2 turn signal lights
2 sets of corner marker lights and housing
2nd set of HID lights and 3rd set of headlight housing
1 radiator with new coolant and hoses
2 batteries
3 alternators
2 starters
3-5 belts
1 air box housing
spark plugs 3 times and wires once
coil pack things once
dif fluid front and rear...once or twice i believe
1 cat converter that one sucked balls
I think that is all....this is all with in 4 years of owning it. i have calmed down since i got out of high school and realized cleaning mud sucks, replacing expensive parts and time consuming doing it yourself with the extra hands.

Mud is really really bad for everything that moves, and doesn't move.

Wash and go, life is too short to stay clean. And this was just a Turkey hunting / fishing trip. Not really a wheel'n trip...OK maybe, some.

YES. just learning this shit the hard way- not by going into deep stuff or anything, just blew through a mud hole about 1/2 mile long and maybe 1 foot deep. meh. got through just fine, it was slick but cool

then the shit dried and has DESTROYED my paint. Stay the hell out of dry lake beds that arent dry. that shit is basically concrete- never had this problem before, but when it dried, it cracked off in big chunks and took paint with it. :0 looked safe..
