    Nice!!

    You're alternator didn't go out.... it needs to be cleaned. I've seen this happen many times while on the trails and have seen guys take their alternators out and clean the brushes & such (while on the trails).

    This might help you..... it's from the older trucks, but it'll give you an idea what to look for.

    Nice way to pop your cherry bro', can't comment on the Alt. failure, but down here in San Diego I implore & remind the guys I wheel with to get that mud & shit off ASAP & follow up with a lube shortly after (drive line & anything with a zirk fitting requiring lubrication) like mentioned its almost impossible to get it all off . just keep at it & try not to bonzai thru every puddle you see, but you'll learn the "what I can & what I cannot or should not do" rules of offroading, welcome to dirt !!! :D:D
