    Well I'm a new owner 1st Tacoma and truck.. I would like to take it to some off road areas but well I don't want to mess anything up... It was bought use with 26k on it. Its an SR5 so not should I say Off Road ready. What would you all say for suggestions?

    Its 4WD.. No I don't mean paint more like bottoming out or ruining say the suspension even though I'm sure its tough enough.. I guess I'm wondering what is some things that are going to happen if I take it off road.. Getting stuck is a fear I guess it would be to test the limits over time

    Yea I deff don't trust myself on my own haha. My cousin is and 04 Tacoma owner and he has gone a few times mostly in mud pits he said he'll teach me some things and my other buddy (convinced me to get a Tacoma) he has a 2010 TRD crew cab also goes so hopefully this spring and summer i'll be posting pictures!

    Take my advice, D0N'T GO MUDDING.
    Lots of fun, but a bitch to clean up after, and destroys alternators.
    There are many threads here that start out something like ... " .... got back from mudding and now my truck doesn't run right..."

    Reading this 1st; http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-roading-trails/70648-tread-lightly.html


    Vermont has Class 4 roads that will let you enjoy your truck and should keep you adventerous BUT safe...

    Loading up on KNOWLEDGE and tools for off-roading would be sound advice....The "stickies" in this area are great "starters" for both the beginner and experienced driver...

    A quick list;

    a) recovery points for BOTH front & back of your Tacoma

    b) communication to the outside world;cell phones drop service how often :confused: and walking 5-10 minutes beats the he!! out of a 2 hour hike :p CB's might seem archaic BUT WORK, 2 meters are NICE but $$$

    c) Snatch straps have helped many "oops" moments while tow straps have made part (b) those 5 minutes instead of the hour

    d) What do "you" feel comfortable fixing on the "Trail" justifies this next catergory; Tools, fluids and spare parts...

    Please TREAD LIGHTLY and leave IT better than you found IT....:cool:
