So my buddy parked his car and went to watch a movie. When he came back out his bumper was dented and I guess the dude took off without saying anything. A bystander witnessed the accident and took down the license plate for my buddy and left it on his windshield. My buddy has liability only. Is there any way we can get the dousche bags address or info by using his plates? He filed a police report already.

the police will run the plates and will find the address registered at the dmv. if they do anything or not is the question

I'd guess they'd also have to get a hold of the witness, so if that dude didn't leave his contact info then probably SOL.

Yea, if there isnt a witness to testify or provide a notarized letter stating what he/she saw, your friend will lose in court.
