I omitted opinions (with the exception of "its a Toyota")

I never had any problems with the blind spots. Did you know that if you adjust your mirros a little you can correct that problem? Best part, it works on all vehicles.

Ugly as sin, all a matter of opinion. I think they look awesome.

    4Runner > FJ Cruiser > Tacoma. IMHO

For $30k+ I could find A LOT of vehicles that I would like A LOT more than an FJ. I bought my Taco because the price was right, and I needed a truck with a bed.

Fj's are pure awesomness! If they didn't want 28-35k for them, I'd have one in the driveway.

35k could easily be reached with accessories, but the point remains: Tacos are generally just as pricey if they're configured anywhere other than stripper.

The FJ makes no sense for me because I need a bed and usable passenger space alongside my awesome offroad features. 09+ TRD OR Taco offers the best of both worlds - all the offroad prowess of the FJ, but the versatility of a truck.

    30 grand buys a nice used diesel...v6 with 260 ft/lbs or a v8 with 750 ft/lbs....same price?!?!? No brainer to me. Hahahaha...

I don't like inheriting other people's problems. No used vehicles for me.

Aside from that, I have no need for the types of trucks that are diesel powered in the US.

If this country were sane and smaller diesels were economical for manufacturers, I would much prefer a diesel version of most cars and trucks available on the market today.

nothing, all stock expect got a OE replacement air filter K&N.
I think the FJ is a good offroad suv, I just dont like the front windshield small and having three wiper blade. If I would have a choice of getting a SUV, I rather go with
the 4runner. I like it better than the FJ.

The reason I said that I don't want to pay 35k(with options), is my truck is paid off. I don't plan on buying a newer Tacoma when I get a new vehicle, you 2nd gen guys complain about them too much. I'll keep my 04, but most likely buy an Fj as a daily. Use the Taco to build into an offroad monster!

I find the FJ's back seat a hilarious proposition. But again, it wasn't exactly made with passengers in mind.

    Just the basics
I have an access cab so the backseats for me aren't an issue. A couple of nights ago I ran across a 2010 TT FJ. If I hadn't already ordered a Flippac I would have that TT today. Kinda a good thing the flippac is ordered because I know it is what is best for my intentions for my future endeavors.

I know Johnnie & JD traded theirs in, dont know the EXACT reasons though. I traded mine because I wanted to. I went on an extremely selfish spending streak with my Tacoma, blowing 6k on it in less than a 8 months, which is too much for my financial status. My wife hated my Tacoma, it was too high, she couldnt drive it, its too loud, the ride was too stiff, blah blah blah, she just wasnt happy. Plus I started heading up to the mountains in the winter weekly (I started doing this after I bought my Prerunner Taco) and using chains and a dealing with the 2wd BS in snow was a PITA.

My wife really liked the FJ and [after maturing a little] I realized her happiness is #1 to me. She only drives ~20 miles a month but its important to me that she enjoys what shes driving. As the next winter approaches I thin my FJ will work wonders in the snow and will make me appreciate it even more than I do now. I love that she loves driving it and it works great for our lifestyle. The winters will be easier and this vehicle [unlike the prerunner] hasnt been to shit.

On top of the "it simply works better for us", I got a great deal on the FJ, paying only 28.1k for a 4x4 fully loaded FJ with every possible option, I got better financing (my Taco was still good but an extra .7% lower doesnt hurt), free extended warranty, maintenance free for 2 yrs, and they didnt royally screw me on the trade in [although I did still get screwed, the dealer still has to make money right?]

The Tacoma definitely still has its advantages. When transporting a mattress a couple months ago it wouldve been much easier to throw it in a bed than hoisting it over my head and strapping it down to a roof rack, ghetto style. LOL. And I no longer have a bed that my buddies and I can tailgate from, but there's tradeoffs to everything.

Objectively/Speaking from Experience: The FJ doesnt have the best visibility out there, but its definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. My wife hasnt crashed into anything yet [which is quite rare] and that means shes been able to see fine. I have no issues with it and never even have to look over my shoulder when turning [properly adjusting your mirrors + blind spot mirrors make for safe and easy lane changes/turns]. The Fj also feels roomier, and every single passenger that has ridden with me has said that they prefer the backseat of the FJ to that of the Double Cab Tacoma I had. That includes my 6'1" buddy, and my 5'2" brother. The interior is much cleaner too, sweeping out dirt with a mini broom is MUCH easier than trying to scrub a carpet, its like having free weathertechs:p.

Botton Line: The FJ works better for "us" and I dont regret switching due to my needs/lifestyle. The tacoma is definitely a bad ass truck though and is an obviously better truck for many others in different situations.

No FJs for me, too many pesos. I am keeping my Taco! +1 with dysfunctnlretard, when you need to carry large items like plywood Taco is way to go.

I'm keeping the Tacoma, the truck is more versitile than a closed up vehicle. Wife will keep the 4Runner, so guess we got the best of both worlds.
