I own a recruiting agency and we are on the phone for about 4-5 hours a day. I currently have a Plantronics S11 that is tethered with a 3' wire. I need to break away and walk around my office more.

To clarify...this is to connect to my office phone - not cell phone or truck. It will only be in the office and only needs to travel about 40' (to the window :)).

Any options that have good sound quality and are comfortable?

    I am looking at:

Plantronics CS50 - which is an ear mount and may be uncomfortable

Plantronics CS361N - dual ear...not sure if I'll like the stereo sound.

my work has an Avaya phone system with wireless headsets that work perfectly. Its an expensive system and you cant really buy individual. But if you are on the phone for that often a day then you might want to invest in something similar.

I think that's the one I going with = the CS55 with lifter. There are times I am away from my phone and can't lift the handset...so I can justify having the lifter.

The 55 is DECT and the 50 is not. It's also cheaper the 50. For $230 on Amazon...I'm pulling the trigger. Thanks.

FWIW i have a Jabra GN9350 with the GN1000 Lifter. I can walk anywhere in our 3000sqft office and still be talking on my phone.

The cs55 is great and the lifter is a must. We use the same setup here at work.

We have about a dozen of the cs55's. They are a great product.

IIRC there is an over the ear piece or over the head, i prefer the latter setup.

The only real gripe i have is the cushion on the ear piece gets unconfortable over time. I have a supply of foam ear pads from and older model that makes all day wear a breeze.

Just to follow up on this...

I ended up buying the Plantronics CS55 from Amazon. First impressions were good but it didn't sit tight on my ear the way my wired headset did. I fiddled around with it for over 2 weeks (spending about 4 hours a day on it) but never got comfortable with the sound. I had to make about 1000 'test' calls to my wife to get her feedback on the sound quality. There are a bunch of adjustments. Finally, after talking extensively with Plantronics, I decided the headset was not for me. Hearing my own breath (like the sound of wind in a phone) was the MOST ANNOYING thing. And I couldn't get rid of it and still be loud enough to be heard.

Anyway, Amazon accepted the return at not cost to me and I bought the Plantronics CS361N. It is a bit heavier and only made to go over-the-head - which was fine because that is the only way I'll wear a headset. Bottom line...this thing rocks! It is so clear and so loud. It hugs my ears and the quality is perfect. I bought the binaural set, which uses 2 earphones. Currently, I have it adjusted to use just one but the option is there to hear in-stereo.

Though the CS361N does not have the option to hang from the ear, it is best suited for the heavy user who intends to use the over-the-head style headset. I highly recommend it!

And props to Amazon for taking it back at no cost to me.

And the lifter that my old-ass phone required:

Finally...how 'bout a shot with my ugly mug wearing it:
