how is the pipe bomb?

Also, I'd be worried about him punching a hole in your gas tank.

i really like it. it was a easy installation, its a really tight fit. the sound is definitley deeper, sounds like a little v8 when cruising. the engine feels like it breaths alot smoother. no regrets on the purchase at all.

a couple weeks ago, while on location at a job, my assistant walked out to my truck to some guys with sawzalls cutting a cat off a 4runner parked behind me... they had just crawled out from underneath with one guy holding the cat, and the other guy walking up to my truck with the saw when she disarmed the alarm to unload some gear... they ran off and jumped into a waiting car and sped off...

crazy thing was this all happened at 4pm on a sunday with all kinda people in the neighborhood walking by on the sidewalks...

Crap. My truck sits out in front of my house as we have no garage big enough for it.

Best prevention is not having them. I've been tempted to get the URD y-pipe and keeping my stock y-pipe in the garage for emissions inspections
Why this general consensus that cats are a bad thing?

You do know that the emission regulations requiring cats have significantly cut down on smog from nitrogen oxides and unburned hydrocarbons. I like my air to be breathable and my views to be clear. Don't you?

I know I've missed the thread regarding this, but why are people stealing cats? And whyTF are they so expensive?

Let's hope not. But I can afford the deductible. Plus my town has a very low crime rate, so I'm not to worried. I imagine kids would try to siphon out the gas before cutting off the cat.

The theft of catalytic converters is rampant due to the value of platinum and palladium skyrocketing. These are the two precious metals contained in a cat. All metals are on the rise, and if you haven't had to buy anything made with pure copper lately you may be in for a shock. The area where I live were are plagued with thieves stealing the outside AC units from businesses and homes. I had one business park where 16 units were taken in one night. They strip-out the copper and sell it as scrap. Now they have figured out that all you have to do is roll under a vehicle (trucks have more ground clearance) and using a battery powered saws-all make a couple of quick cuts and they walk away with small package that will bring $100 plus a a scrap yard. It hasn't helped that it is in the news more and that is showing all the other crack heads how to make a quick buck.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...ar-theft_N.htm

I also believe that Nissan and Toyota cats are more desirable because they contain more of the metals.

Can you legally shoot a bastard if he's under your truck with a saws-all on your property? A few dead thieves on the news should help to balance out the stories.

I was just wondering the same, and ran smack into your response.

So... is it legal?
