Who are the ones that ride bicycles thru the neighborhood while wearing dark pants, white shirts and ties?

    I see these people occasionally.

    Here's my take on religion:

Every one of them tell you that if you're good and lead a "sinless" life, when you die you get to go to a wonderful and golden place where all your dreams come true. Like Disneyland. Who doesn't want that?

I will say they are dedicated. I've seen them riding along in torrential downpours.

How about let's take the best of every religion and put them together. I'll start with the 72 virgin women! But I don't want to have to be a Martyr to get them!!;) Oh, and they have to be hot!!!

Isn't "heaven" endless? Everybody has anything they need, streets lined in gold, like the wizard of oz, no diseases or illnesses.

yes according to the bible in john's vision he said he saw streets paved with gold and many mansions. as well as hosts of heavenly beings. So yes i myself am a protestant Presbyterian. Born and raised. i respect other peoples opinions even if i wholistically dont agree with someone.

Oh by the way when the question arose if anyone was jewish, my father was born and raised to judiasm. However when he moved out of california he converted to protestantism. so my family on my dads side is pretty much jewish.

Raised Methodist and about my Jr. year in high school given the choice whether to go or not. I felt at that time it seemed to be about who had the nicer car, clothes, ect.. Basically felt church was built on ego's instead of faith. Didn't go for many years.
I'm not much of a church person still, but do believe in God. I try to follow the examples of the Bible in my actions. I guess I'm more Lutheran these days because of my wifes views and her being raised to that faith.

If they are Mormons, then they are "dedicated" in the sense that they believe what they've been taught by their leaders. As far as riding along in a pouring rain, sounds more to me like they got caught out in the downpour than they're doing it on purpose!

I once was one of those young Mormons riding their bikes around neighborhoods world wide and telling people about "The Church." Only I did it for 30 months in the south of Brazil, not here in the States..

The text was translated incorrectly. It actually reads "one 72 year old virgin." Those martyrs are gonna be pissed.

furthermore, one doesn't stay a virgin until they're 72 years old because they're hot.

Well said! I am much the same. However, we brought our kids to many different teachings and let them choose on their own.

To a Catholic priest that's kinda like missing the "R" in celibate. ;)

The biggest weakness in man is his penchant to believe what he wishes, instead of Reality, and organized religion is at the very top of this major flaw. So to be a participant in some organized religion means at a minimum you haven’t thought about it very much.

Reality is the only true religion. That means you accept absolutely nothing that you cannot personally confirm. If you carry this far enough you will find that God does in fact exist, but in His own way, not as defined by man.
