I've talked with her insurance people now. They said that she called them this morning and gave them the same story I did. (I was a little afraid that she was going to say I hit her or something.) It's been handed over to the claims department. I have a claim # and a claim representative.

I've never dealt with this stuff before - I'm a fantastic driver :D. Somebody who has dealt with it said it sounds like I'll definitely get the money, it's just a matter of time.

It looks like the poll is pretty heavily leaning towards the bull bar. I'm interested in hearing more from the people that think I should repaint the bumper. If you don't mind taking the time, I'd enjoy a PM or even a public post, if you wish. I'm difficult to offend. I'd just like to hear the different opinions.

Damn... If the insurance quote had been substantially more I'd consider it. I don't have the extra cash, though. That looks pretty nice!

The scratches don't look that bad to me, IMO. I'd be more concerned with something similar happening again. I know I want to get more front end protection as soon as I can afford it. So if I were you I'd go with a bull bar or grill guard for now. Unless you want to save the money for a new bumper later on.

Exactly my thinking... The scratches are there and were caused by the accident, which is why I feel legitimate in filing the claim, but they're not big enough to notice unless you're up close. I've always liked the way bull bars look, and it looks like I'll be able to get one to protect the bumper from future stupidity.

So I heard from the insurance people today. They're going to pay, but I'll never see the money. They're going to have me get the repair work done at the dealership and will pay them directly for the work.

So much for my new Bull Bar :( At least I'll be made whole, right?

Yeah, and at least you never have to worry about those 2 little scratches being there.
